Owen Fetherston taking photos in his element.

A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Owen Fetherston and I am a 18 year old photographer living in Portland, Oregon. Although I’ve lived here for a few years, I spent the majority of my childhood in Salt Lake City, Utah where my infatuation of natural landscapes took hold. My mom, little brother, and I have been exploring the Wasatch Mountains for longer than I can remember. We also spent our fair share of time going on countless camping trips to all kinds of places. From desert roadtrips with no destination to backpacking through the High Uintas Wilderness, every trip was a unique one. I think that’s what I love most about the outdoors, is that every trip results in seeing something new, whether that is because of a change of scenery or perspective.

Back in the spring of 2020 I had finally saved enough allowance money for a real camera. As a result my outdoor obsession has taken a whole new form. Embarking on my first solo hikes, finally capturing photos that do justice, and exploring my creative potential, (the most exciting part!) This leap forward was a long time coming, my dream of getting a proper camera was one that was there before I even knew it. Probably emerging around the time I was in middle school, using my little GoPro Hero 5 Session like I was an artist at work while exploring the deserts of the southwest. Anyways, I can go on and on so I’ll leave you with this little slice of who I am. Thanks for checking out my work and be on the lookout for new adventures coming in the future!
